Heaven has Room for Everyone
Sunday morning is here and we did get a dusting of snow last night. Not much and I'm sure it will be melted shortly but it sure looks nice. I am a little somber this morning as I must sadly report that last night we had to put little Patches to sleep. It was quite a shock as we only adopted her a week ago but have known her for quite sometime. She was suffering from kidney disease. She was showing some symptoms over the week and we took her the doctor who said she was in a terrible way and could not be saved. We were so sad because we had wanted to give her a good life in our house and now she is gone. I'm wondering if the reason she let us finally catch her in the first place is because she knew herself she was ill and did not want to die outdoors. We'll never know. The kids,of course, were shocked and upset. Caitlin especially. I told her that Patches joins our other cats and pets in Heaven and that all our loved ones will oversee them and love them. She asked me "How does Heaven have room for everyone?" There's plenty of room I told her. Patches is healed, loved and happy now.

and I believe there is a Heaven.

DeleteThat is so so sad, breaks my heart to hear a beloved pet pass even if you had her a short time.....I'm sure glad she knew she was loved in her short life......Hugs Francine.
ReplyDeleteThank you Francine. Hugs to you too.
ReplyDeleteFor the short period of time you had her I am sure Patches knew she was wanted and loved. I am sorry for your loss. Blessings, Julie.
ReplyDeleteOh Thank you so much. I think she did.
ReplyDeleteI feel badly for the loss and the way this went, but for the little time you were Patches family, you gave her the ultimate gift. You ended her suffering which is the most selfless thing you can do for for any pet in her situation.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your words Ellen. It's a hard thing to do, but I am glad that we were able to give her a peaceful end to her suffering.
